Paid Web Pro gets the best chat model listed on Chai’s public pricing page. Pro also receives faster replies and priority access. Chai says a Web Pro request receives much more computing power than an average request inside the app.

That makes the paid plan easier to understand. You are mainly paying for more and better conversation rather than a bag of unrelated extras.

Is Chai AI Good for Roleplay?

Yes. Roleplay fits Chai very well because so many characters already start with a scene.

You may open a bot and find yourself inside a fantasy kingdom, a school story, a horror plot, a date, or a fictional relationship before you have written your first reply.

If you want to start your own roleplay, keep the setup clear:

1. Pick a character that matches the story you want.
2. Read the first message before you reply.
3. State your own role if the scene needs one.
4. Add actions or scene details to your messages.

Chai itself lists social chat and roleplay as major uses of its character library.

The range is a major plus here. You do not need every roleplay idea to fit one AI girlfriend. You can simply change characters.

Does Chai AI Allow NSFW and Adult Content?

Chai is made for adults and its community can include mature themes. The official FAQ says user-made characters and conversations may contain mature material. The iOS version is currently rated 18+, while Google Play lists sexual themes in its content rating.

There are limits.

Chai’s current safety rules state that its models and live safety systems are made to refuse restricted material, including sexually explicit content. Content that sexualizes minors is also banned.

So Chai works better for adult romance, flirting, mature themes, and story-based roleplay than for users who want a no-rules NSFW generator.

Does Chai AI Have Image Generation?

Images are not the main focus of Chai’s current web subscription.

The current pricing page has a separate IMAGES tab, while its public Pro plan lists character access, advanced chat AI, ad removal, and faster responses as the main subscription benefits.

Pro focuses mainly on better chat quality and character access rather than advanced media tools. 

Chai has offered AI image tools as part of its product history, and the service still places visual character profiles at the front of the experience. The current public web offer, however, gives much more detail about its conversation tools than its image system.

For a character-first user, that is fine. The profile picture helps set the mood, but you spend most of your time inside the conversation.

Can Chai AI Generate Videos?

Video is not listed as a standard feature in the current Chai Web Pro or MAX benefits.

The public plans focus on AI characters, advanced chat models, response speed, rate limits, and ad-free access.

Chai is therefore much more of a chat and roleplay platform than a video generator in its present web form.

Users who choose Chai should do so for conversations and characters first.

Chai has a free starting option, Chai Pro, and a higher MAX level for heavy users.

The current official web prices are simple at the Pro level. MAX is more technical because one option charges based on the number of generated tokens.

The annual Pro plan is the cheaper long-term choice. At $159.99 per year, its monthly cost works out to about $13.33. The weekly option costs $9.99 and suits users who do not want to pay for a full year at once.

There is also a 24-hour Pro trial. It starts at $0 and then changes to the $159.99 annual plan unless canceled under the offer terms.

CHAI MAX sits above Pro. MAX Auto removes rate limits and charges $0.66 for every 1,000 generated tokens. MAX Monthly costs $90 per month and doubles the normal rate limit. Both require Pro and give access to Chai’s more powerful AI models.

MAX is clearly meant for people who chat a lot. A normal user will probably get more value from regular Pro.

Chai AI is a real service run by Chai Research Corp., a US company registered in Delaware. Its current privacy policy lists a Palo Alto, California address and gives users an official support contact.

The service has active Terms of Service, a Privacy Policy, safety rules, billing pages, account controls, and official mobile apps.

Its Android app has passed 10 million downloads on Google Play, while the US App Store currently shows hundreds of thousands of ratings. Both listings name Chai Research Corp. as the developer.

There is one privacy point users should understand. Chai’s Privacy Policy says conversation data is stored in its systems. Messages may also be used to improve the chatbot experience. It is smart to keep passwords, payment details, private documents, and other sensitive personal data out of AI chats.

Paid plans can be canceled through the account settings. Chai says Pro stays active until the end of the current billing period after cancellation.

Our verdict is clear. Chai is a working social AI service with a large user base, active apps, real paid plans, and its own AI research company behind it.
